Alternative Provision Tutor

Are you a compassionate, patient, and creative educator with a passion for making a difference? We are seeking an Alternative Provision Tutor to support a 10-year-old learner in Emsworth.

• Working at Key Stage 1 level
• Diagnosed with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and ADHD
• Experiences emotional dysregulation and anxiety, especially in new social situations
• At risk of exclusion and in need of a nurturing, consistent adult relationship
• Interests include gaming and reptiles - perfect for building rapport through shared passions!

As an AP Tutor you will:

• Deliver engaging, tailored 1:1 sessions aligned with the KS1 curriculum
• Foster a safe, trusting environment that supports emotional regulation and confidence
• Use creative, flexible approaches to learning that respect the young person''s needs and interests
• Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and professionals to ensure consistent support

About you:

• • • Experience of working with learners with SEMH needs, PDA, or ADHD
    • Skilled in trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches
    • Calm, adaptable, and empathetic
    • Able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule

Full time/part-time - Opportunities for both
Hours - 12 Hours per week- for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time with additional tuition opportunities

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

• • • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL

      Trauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable
      
      

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

• Hold right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide references upon request
• Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
