Our client in the media and advertising space are looking for a new Accounts Payable Manager to join their team in London. This is an exciting position which will see you overseeing a team of five in Accounts Payable.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the entire accounts payable cycle, ensuring invoices and payments are processed promptly and accurately.Provide leadership and support to a team of four AP clerks, including performance management and professional development.Manage mid-month and month-end payment schedules, ensuring all transactions are properly authorized and comply with internal policies.Communicate effectively with media suppliers to resolve any payment-related issues or discrepancies.Ensure expenses are correctly allocated to relevant departments, projects, and cost centres, especially for overhead costs.Reconcile the AP sub-ledger with the general ledger and monitor aged creditor balances to maintain financial accuracy.Identify and implement process improvements, including automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.Assist with internal and external audits by preparing and supplying necessary documentation.Strengthen and maintain robust internal controls within the AP function.The ideal candidate will be an experienced Accounts Payable Manager with exposure to management of juniors, supporting and improving the AP process, target setting and general team motivation. Media experience would be highly desireable, as well as exposure to dealing with a high volume of invoices.
