Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 per annum (DOE)

My client is currently recruiting for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their growing manufacturing business based in Saffron Walden, Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fabricator with strong MIG and TIG welding experience to join an experienced workshop team working on a variety of bespoke projects.

The successful candidate will be involved in projects from start to finish, including preparation, fabrication, welding, assembly and finishing of components and specialist products supplied to customers across a range of industries.

• MIG and TIG welding to a high standard

• Fabrication and assembly of steel products and bespoke equipment

• Working from engineering and fabrication drawings

• Using workshop machinery including band saws, pillar drills and grinding equipment

• Safely operating power tools, hand tools and general workshop equipment

• Preparing materials and organising workshop areas

• Maintaining a clean, tidy and efficient working environment

• Completing job cards and keeping manufacturing work accurately tracked

• Supporting the Workshop Supervisor with health and safety standards

• Identifying ways to improve productivity, efficiency and workflow

• Working as part of a hands-on workshop team

• Supporting warehouse activities when required, including moving and preparing materials

• Occasional site visits and deliveries where required

• Minimum 5 years'' MIG and TIG welding experience

• Strong fabrication experience

• Ability to read and understand mechanical/fabrication drawings

• Experience using power, air and hand tools

• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• Practical problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and use your own initiative

• Good organisational skills

• Positive and proactive approach to work

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Full UK driving licence

• Right to work in the UK

• Ability to obtain and maintain UK security clearance if required

• Counterbalance Forklift Licence

• IPAF qualification

• Microsoft 365 experience

• £38,000 – £42,000 salary, depending on experience
