Warehouse Operations Manager
Warehouse Operations Manager
Sheerwater, Woking
Permanent – Full Time
£40,000 - £55,000 p.a.
Are you an experienced Warehouse Manager who enjoys being hands-on, leading a team and working in a fast-paced environment?
Our client is a leading provider of staging and production solutions for live events, concerts and productions. They are looking for a Warehouse Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of their Woking warehouse, supporting the delivery of equipment for a wide range of exciting events.
This is a varied role where you’ll be responsible for people, equipment, stock and warehouse operations, working closely with Project Coordinators, road crew and other teams to ensure equipment is prepared and ready to go when needed.
It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who likes to be actively involved rather than simply managing from behind a desk.
The Role
As Warehouse Manager, you will:
- Plan and coordinate the day-to-day activities and resources of the warehouse.
- Allocate work and manage, motivate and support the warehouse team.
- Oversee the receipt, storage, preparation and dispatch of equipment and materials.
- Manage stock levels and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Supervise the loading and unloading of equipment and shipments.
- Ensure equipment is prepared correctly and on schedule for upcoming events.
- Work closely with Project Coordinators and event teams to prepare equipment for jobs.
- Ensure high standards of health and safety throughout the warehouse.
- Maintain the security of the warehouse, equipment and stock.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient warehouse and surrounding areas.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Communicate promptly with other managers regarding equipment shortages, schedules or operational issues.
A Hands-On Role
This is not a purely office-based management position. You’ll be expected to get involved and lead by example, particularly when equipment needs to be prepared for busy event schedules.
The role may also involve:
- Driving a forklift to load and unload equipment.
- Driving a van to collect or deliver equipment and materials when required.
- Working evenings or weekends when event schedules demand it.
- Occasionally attending event sites to assist with equipment set-up or breakdown.
About You
We’re looking for someone with strong warehouse management experience who is:
- An experienced Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Supervisor or Operations Manager.
- Confident leading and motivating a team.
- Highly organised with excellent planning skills.
- Practical, hands-on and comfortable working in a busy warehouse environment.
- Experienced in stock control and inventory management.
- Safety-conscious with a good understanding of warehouse health and safety.
- A strong communicator who can work effectively with different teams.
- Flexible and able to respond to changing schedules and operational demands.
Forklift experience/licence would be advantageous, as would experience within the events, staging, production, entertainment or equipment hire industries.
