Lamond Vets in Livingston is looking for an experienced small animal veterinary surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for a clinician ready to take on more responsibility and continue developing their own skills in a well-established practice.You’ll have clinical freedom, a varied caseload, and opportunities to specialise—whether that’s studying for a certificate, offering specialist services, or advancing your surgical expertise. We also work closely with the SSPCA, and have a strong focus on charity work. Our caseload includes a mix of medical and surgical cases such as routine neuterings, pyometras, lump removals, GI foreign bodies, and dentistry. If you have a particular area of interest, we’d love to support you in developing it further.We are a practice of 33 employees located in Livingston Scotland which is easily commutable from Edinburgh or Glasgow as it lies between Scotland''s two biggest cities and is a gateway to the Highlands. Our current team consists of 8 vets, 13 RVN''s and a fabulous support team.Our people are at the heart of everything that we do, that’s why we know that work-life balance is vital in supporting our people to be their best selves. Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours offers a balance that truly flexes with you and your lifestyle no matter what stage you are in your career.We work 40 hours over a 4 day week with 1 in 3 Saturdays, however, we are open to flexible working or part time hours for the right candidate. No OOH requirement. Salary up to £65,000.We are very lucky to have digital radiography, a dedicated and fully fitted dental suite, a large prep area and two seperate operating theatres as well as a video endoscopy tower with rigid and flexible endoscopes. We also perform laparoscopic as well as routine, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries. We have an in-house heamotology and bio-chemistry analyser as well as a microscope. We perform ultrasound investigations on a daily basis. We are very lucky to be working in a recently refurbished practice where everything is fresh and clean. We are also supported by an opthamology certificate holder and we are currently supporting another of our vets through their surgery certificate.We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business.
