OverviewThe appointee will join a team of Urologists at Croydon University Hospital and St George''s Hospital for a 12 month fixed term contract and provide general urology services with an interest in Renal Cancer.

Responsibilities

Provide both elective and emergency urology care as part of the team at CUH and SGH.

Deliver core urology services at CUH and participate in the on call rota at SGH.

Assist in teaching and contribute to the undergraduate curriculum through planning and review of teaching, and assessment of students. This may include ward rounds and outpatient clinics as appropriately structured.

Maintain flexibility in teaching commitments in line with medical curriculum changes, and support uneven teaching allocation if required to optimise teaching and service quality.

Work to create an enhanced network for Urology patients, with a demonstrated interest in Renal Cancer.

Deliver on-call duties at St George''s Hospital (1:12 on-call with on-site SpR support) and perform daily ward rounds and review acute admissions in line with Emergency Standards. Elective work is cancelled during on-call periods.

Be allocated 6 programmed activities (PAs) at SGH and 4 PAs at CUH, with on-site delivery normally expected for Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and 1.5 PAs for Supporting Activities (SPA), subject to negotiation for the supporting activities.

Working PatternOn-calls at SGH; consultant of the week arrangement; on-call commitments in line with the rota.
