Trust Doctor ST3+ level in Reproductive Medicine at St Bartholomew''s Hospital
OverviewTrust Doctor (ST3+) to join the Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, based at St Bartholomew''s Hospital. The appointment is initially for 12 months on a fixed-term basis and may be extended to two years. The Fertility service at Barts Health is a large NHS service providing a wide range of diagnostic and treatment options, including ART (IUI, IVF, ICSI), sperm and ovum donation, surrogacy, sperm retrieval techniques, and fertility preservation for acute and chronic conditions including oncology.
Main dutiesThis is a one-year post with a potential extension for a second year depending on clinical and research assessment. The post holder will be trained in all aspects of general fertility and ART. Responsibilities include outpatient assessment, ultrasound scanning, monitoring of ART treatment (ovulation induction, IUI, IVF/ICSI, ovum donation, surrogacy, etc.), transvaginal oocyte retrievals and tubal patency assessments (hysterosalpingograms and HyCoSy), exposure to sperm retrieval techniques and transabdominal oocyte retrieval, and reproductive surgery. The post holder will have the opportunity to participate in the Fertility Preservation program, Menopause and Fertility-BRCA clinics, and will be encouraged to engage in Clinical Governance within the Fertility Department. Participation in inspections (HFEA, CQC, ISO) and in the preparation and implementation of post-inspection action plans is encouraged.

Qualifications and RequirementsEssential
MBBS/MB ChB or equivalent
MRCOG
GMC registration
Desirable
MD or MSc
Experience in ART, ultrasound scanning
Publications and presentations at national/international meetings
Knowledge/Clinical experience
5 years Obstetrics and Gynecology (approaching ST5 or above) with matching competency records
Training and other
Previous training in an Infertility Centre is desirable
Interest in research; good communication skills; empathetic, mature, and an all-rounder
Desirable: organizational skills
