Senior Clinical Fellow

post in Neonatal Medicine at

ST 4-8 level

commencing in

September 2025 .The post provides an opportunity for aspiring neonatologists/paediatricians to further their neonatal experience in a tertiary medico-surgical NICU. This experience aims to prepare candidates for a successful application to join a national training scheme in Paediatrics, GRID applications in Neonatology during a break from Paediatric training, or for those seeking senior neonatal experience before becoming a consultant. It also offers a chance to revise and enhance neonatal skills post-CCT in preparation for Consultant roles.The neonatal unit at the Royal London Hospital offers tertiary medical and surgical neonatal care, with eleven medical intensive care, twelve high-dependency, and fourteen special care cots. There is close consultant supervision, and training is provided in all aspects of neonatal intensive care. Although the post does not have formal educational approval, Clinical Fellows can participate in educational programmes, training, and teaching organized by the Deanery-approved specialist training doctors. The unit has an active academic programme and opportunities for high-quality audit and quality improvement projects.Eligibility for GMC registration with a licence to practice is essential. Prior middle-grade level experience in a tertiary neonatal unit is desirable.
