Travel Operations & Reservations Executive

Platinum Travel Recruitment are seeking an experienced Operations & Reservations Consultant to join a fabulous and forward thinking travel company.

This is an exciting opportunity ideal for an experienced travel professional from a tour operator background seeking progression with a dynamic travel company.

 Operations & Reservations Consultant - Duties:

• You will sit within the Sales & Service function, working a defined portfolio of trade accounts alongside our clients ground operations.
• Build quotations from current contracted rates for Kenya and Tanzania.
• Produce quotations and itineraries across East Africa.
• Handle passenger names, travel  dates, room configurations, dietary and mobility notes, flight times, special requests. 
• Offering a cutting edge customer service. 
• Build relationships and get to know your accounts and client profile.
• Up selling travel extras such as accommodation upgrades, extra nights, private vehicle, the conservancy over the busy park, the balloon safari, the beach extension to enhance client experience.
• Build and maintain genuine expertise in East African safari product, camps and lodges, conservancies and national parks, seasonality, migration timing, internal air routes and road transfer realities.
• Keep current on entry requirements, health advisories, park fee changes and airline schedules.
• Take part in familiarisation trips, supplier training and product sessions to increase knowledge. 

 Operations & Reservations Consultant - Essential Requirements:

• Experience in travel sales, tour operating or destination management, with a track record of hitting targets.
• Comfort with reservation systems, quoting tools and spreadsheets, and the appetite to adopt new technology as we invest in it.
• First-hand knowledge of East Africa — Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and/or Rwanda, through travel or previous employment.
