Transport-Operations-Supervisor-is-responsible-for-the-effective-day-to-day-management-and-co-ordination-of-the-transport-department''s-daily-workload-using- the-company''s-fleet-of-vehicles.

Key-Responsibilities-Daily-Operations:-

Take-responsibility-for-the-effective-day-to-day-co-ordination-and-management-of-the- company''s-domestic-movements-across-the-UK.

Review-and-process-movement-instructions,-ensuring-all-relevant-information-is- accurate-and-complete.

Plan-and-organise-collections-and-deliveries-in-accordance-with-customer-requirements,-agreed-schedules,-available-capacity-and-operational-priorities.

Co-ordinate-the-allocation-of-company-drivers,-vehicles-and-external-transport- providers as-appropriate.

Ensure-all-movement-instructions-are-communicated-accurately-and-efficiently-to- drivers-and-transport-providers.

Monitor-movements-throughout-the-day-and-proactively-manage-potential-delays,- disruptions-or-changes.

Make-appropriate-operational-decisions-within-the-authority-of-the-role-and-escalate- matters-requiring-management-approval.

Ensure-completed-movements-are-accurately-recorded-and-all-relevant-documentation- is-obtained-and-processed.

Co-ordinate-and-oversee-the-use-of-company-vehicles,-drivers-and-approved- - - external- transport-providers.

Liaise-with-hauliers-and-transport-providers-to-secure-appropriate-capacity-and-ensure-movements-are-completed-to-the-required-standard.

Monitor-the-performance,-reliability-and-service-levels-of-external-transport-providers.

Address-operational-issues-with-transport-providers-and-escalate-persistent-or- significant-concerns-to-management.

Obtain-and-review-transport-costs-where-required-and-ensure-that-agreed-rates-and- commercial-arrangements-are-followed.

Act-as-a-senior-operational-point-of-contact-for-customers-and-suppliers-in-relation-to- domestic-movements.

Maintain-strong-and-professional-working-relationships-with-key-customers-and- operational-contacts.

Respond-promptly-and-effectively-to-operational-queries-and-requests.

Provide-customers-with-accurate-updates-regarding-the-status-of-movements.

Manage-customer-expectations-where-delays,-changes-or-operational-difficulties-arise.

Liaise-with-suppliers,-warehouses,-transport-providers-and-customer-sites-to-resolve- operational-issues.

Escalate-significant-customer-concerns-to-the-appropriate-manager-while-maintaining- ownership-of-the-operational-resolution.-Operational-Planning

Review-current-and-upcoming-domestic-movements-to-ensure-adequate-transport- capacity-and-resources-are-available.

Identify-potential-scheduling-conflicts,-capacity-constraints-and-operational-risks.

Plan-movements-to-maximise-operational-efficiency-and-vehicle-utilisation.

Ensure-all-domestic-movements-are-accurately-recorded-within-the-company''s- operational-systems.

Oversee-the-accurate-completion-and-processing-of-delivery-notes,-proof-of-delivery- documentation-and-other-relevant-records.

Ensure-missing-or-incomplete-documentation-is-identified-and-followed-up-promptly.

Maintain-accurate-records-relating-to-customers,-suppliers,-movements,-vehicles-and- transport-providers.

Ensure-operational-information-is-available-to-support-customer-service,-invoicing,- reporting-and-management-decision-making.

Raise-and-escalate-any-compliance,-safety-or-security-concerns-immediately.

Ensure-accidents,-incidents,-near-misses,-damage,-loss-or-other-operational-concerns- are-reported-in-accordance-with-company-procedures.

Support-the-company-in-maintaining-appropriate-standards-of-operational-and-transport-compliance.

Lead-by-example-in-maintaining-high-standards-of-safety,-professionalism-and-operational-control.-Problem

Take-ownership-of-operational-problems-and-work-proactively-to-identify-practical-and- commercially-appropriate-solutions.

Respond-quickly-and-effectively-to-delays,-breakdowns,-driver-availability-issues,-failed-collections-or-deliveries-and-changing-customer-requirements.

Re-plan-movements-where-necessary-to-minimise-disruption.

Arrange-alternative-transport-solutions-within-the-authority-of-the-role.

Liaise-with-customers,-drivers,-suppliers-and-transport-providers-to-resolve-operational- issues.

Maintain-a-calm-and-professional-approach-when-dealing-with-time-critical-or-high-pressure-situations.

Provide-day-to-day-guidance-and-support-to-members-of-the-operations-team.

Act-as-a-senior-point-of-reference-for-operational-queries-and-issues.

Identify-opportunities-to-improve-domestic-operational-processes-and-working-practices.

Review-recurring-delays,-errors,-customer-issues-and-transport-problems.

Recommend-practical-improvements-to-increase-efficiency,-service-quality-and-cost- effectiveness.

Assist-with-the-development-and-implementation-of-operational-procedures.

Contribute-to-the-review-of-transport-providers,-systems-and-processes.

Required-Experience:-

Previous-experience-in-a-senior-operations,-logistics,-transport-or-co-ordination-role.

Strong-knowledge-and-understanding-of-domestic-UK-transport-operations.

Proven-ability-to-manage-multiple-movements,-priorities-and-deadlines-simultaneously.
