Transport Planner

We are recruiting for a transport planner in Leigh!Role Responsibilities Check resource availability for the shift by reviewing the manning levels on a daily basisConfirm driver start times for next day, updating the system accordingly Manage drivers hours in relation to customer requirements and volumesMonitor and report WTD issues and concerns to the Operations teamEnsure correct equipment is planned, the system is accurate, and trailer movements are tracked and controlledReview vehicle utilisation, highlighting inefficiencies to Line Management Ensure effective control of drivers through on-going communication to ensure that performance is achievedEnsure effective two-way communication between Operations and Customer Services functions to identify and act on any potential service or cost issuesMonitor and act on reports highlighting poor driving practices and inefficiencies, escalating where requiredAssist with Despatch and Debrief as directed by on shift managementAssist in investigation of late / failed deliveries to provide root cause information to Contract ManagerImplement actions from the Central conference calls as directed by on shift managementUpdate required reports / spreadsheets daily Complete end of shift checks as requiredEnsure that the Shift Handover process and communication is clear and controlled The shift pattern for this role is Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm.This is a temporary to permanent role, salary of 37,000 and an hourly rate of 17.74. ..... full job details .....
