Trainee Sheet Metal Fabricator and Mechanical Fitter Location: Byfleet, Surrey Salary: Competitive Our client is a precision engineering company and are looking to recruit a Trainee Sheet Metal Fabricator and Mechanical Fitter. As Trainee Sheet Metal Fabricator and Mechanical Fitter you would develop competency in sheet metal fabrication and mechanical fitting techniques while supporting the manufacture and assembly of aerospace components to ensure the resulting product meets quality requirements within established production deadlines. Learn and perform sheet metal fabrication activities under supervision. Assist with forming, bending, drilling, trimming and finishing aerospace components. Learn to assemble and fit mechanical and sheet metal assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. Deliver output targets in line with work-to-lists and training objectives. Interpret engineering planning documents, technical drawings and specification sheets, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) where provided. Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and measuring equipment safely and correctly. Ensure equipment used is of sufficient quality to manufacture to customer specification, reporting any defects before use. Ensure job cards are signed and stamped for prior operations before commencing work. Accurately and consistently clock on and off all jobs.
