Our client, a leading UK automotive repair organisation, is seeking an experienced Technical Training & Development Coordinator to support the delivery of technical training, Continuous Professional Development (CPD), and apprenticeship programmes across a national network of accident repair and commercial vehicle repair centres. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA), senior VDA, or automotive professional with a passion for developing people, improving technical standards, and supporting the next generation of industry talent. The successful candidate will help shape and deliver VDA training programmes, support VDA best practices, and drive continuous improvement across the organisation''s VDA function.
Responsibilities for a Technical Training & Development Coordinator:
- Coordinate and support CPD and apprenticeship programmes across the business.
- Develop, deliver and continuously improve technical training focused on Vehicle Damage Assessment (VDA) and related operational disciplines.
- Produce engaging learning materials for classroom, workshop and online delivery.
- Support colleagues in achieving and maintaining technical competence, qualifications and accreditations.
- Deliver training across multiple repair centres and operational locations throughout the UK.
- Assist with apprentice inductions, progress reviews, development planning and assessment activities.
- Liaise with training providers, managers and mentors to ensure apprentices receive appropriate support.
- Coordinate training schedules and maintain accurate training records and documentation.
- Support compliance with BS10125:2022 standards and competence requirements.
- Identify training needs and recommend suitable development programmes.
- Support the introduction of new repair methods, equipment and technical processes through effective training.
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and industry stakeholders.
- Promote a positive learning culture and uphold high professional standards.
Skills and Qualifications for a Technical Training & Development Coordinator:
- In-date IMI VDA Accreditation (essential).
- Significant experience within Vehicle Damage Assessment, accident repair, engineering or related automotive disciplines.
- Previous experience delivering technical training, coaching, mentoring or staff development.
- Experience supporting apprentices, trainees or adult learners.
- Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of BS10125:2022 standards would be beneficial.
- Assessor qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel nationally, including occasional overnight stays.
