Technical Support Engineer
Location: Bristol
Salary: £39,000 – £50,000 DOE
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent
About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join a growing technical support team in Bristol.
You will provide technical support across a UK depot network and customer sites, acting as a point of escalation for engineers dealing with more complex faults, repairs and commissioning work.
This is a hands-on role working with diesel generator sets, supporting fault diagnosis, repairs, upgrades, commissioning and technical projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on generator equipment
- Carry out servicing, repairs, commissioning and modifications
- Attend customer sites for technical support and site surveys
- Support engineers with complex fault-finding and technical issues
- Work on Stage V generators and modern rental equipment
- Provide technical training and mentoring to engineers
- Support engineering upgrades, product introductions and technical investigations
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
About You
- Experience servicing and repairing diesel generator sets is essential
- Experience with FG Wilson, Cummins or similar generators
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Relevant engineering qualification or completed apprenticeship
- Electrical bias preferred
- Understanding of LV distribution and changeover systems
- Previous Field Service or Technical Support experience would be advantageous
- Full UK driving licence essential
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
