Team Manager - Support & protection Team - Isle of wight

Isle of Wight are looking to engage an experienced social worker as an team manager to join its Children Support & Protection team. Pay Rate - 47.50ph. 3 months long contract.

As Team Manager, you will provide strong leadership and management to a team of social workers, ensuring that safeguarding and child protection practice is effective, consistent and focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for children.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing and providing professional leadership to a team of social workers.

Ensuring children receive appropriate support and protection in line with statutory requirements.

Providing regular supervision, guidance and support to team members.

Overseeing caseloads and ensuring effective case management and progression.

Ensuring safeguarding concerns are appropriately assessed, managed and escalated where required.

Monitoring the quality of social work practice and promoting continuous improvement.

Working collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals and other partner agencies.

Supporting staff with complex cases and safeguarding decision-making.

Ensuring statutory timescales, policies and procedures are followed.

Contributing to service development and promoting a strong child-centred approach.

About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:

A recognised Social Work qualification.

Current registration with Social Work England.

Significant experience within Childrens Social Care.

Strong experience of child protection and safeguarding.

Previous experience in a Team Manager, Senior Social Worker or similar leadership role.

Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance and social work practice.

Excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills.

The ability to manage complex workloads and support social workers effectively.

A commitment to safeguarding children and improving outcomes for families.

Ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK
