The FCA regulates the conduct of 45,000 firms in the UK to ensure our financial markets are honest, fair and competitive. The Insurance Directorate supervises all the UK’s Retail Commercial and Life insurance providers, from sole director entities to large multi-nationals – working to ensure that these firms do not pose a risk to the FCA’s statutory objectives.We are seeking a highly organised and motivated individual to provide administrative support across the department supervising these firms. This role involves organising the flow of information received by managers in the department, monitoring and maintaining diaries, booking meetings, organising travel and undertaking tasks that support the working of teams, projects or individuals.What will you be doing?
Providing key day to day support and assistance to the department including diary management, prioritising the daily schedule, managing joiner/mover/leaver IT requirements and resolving ad-hoc issues or queries on behalf of the managersWorking alongside local Head of Department’s PAs and the Director’s PA to coordinate the division’s administrative activities, including ensuring there is adequate administrative cover within the Division, and being a role model and key information contact pointCo-ordinating attendance of external meetings including meeting room bookings, travel, accommodation and expensesWhat will you get from the role?

Proven experience of diary managementProven experience managing key administrative tasksEssential
Flexibility to adapt and react to changing circumstances, reprioritising as necessaryStrong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to work in a structured way to a high standard against tight deadlinesAbility to handle staff confidential and sensitive data with a high degree of discretion, always maintaining confidentialityAbility to build good working relationships and networks across the division, the FCA in general and with external suppliers by gaining trustProven ability to work effectively as a team player but flexible enough to work on own initiativeExcellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookStrong written and oral communication skills, in particular an ability to summarise key ‘need to know’ issues in a timely fashion.
