TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic primary school based in Chesterfield, who are looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant. This school has an inclusive and nurturing ethos and is committed to creating a positive learning environment where every child is encouraged to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Staff work closely together to provide tailored support and high-quality education for all pupils.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be working on a 1:1 basis with a child in Reception who has been diagnosed with Autism / ASD. The role will involve supporting the child throughout the school day from 8:30am until 3:30pm, helping with classroom engagement, communication, emotional regulation and social interaction.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience supporting children with Autism / ASD

Previous experience working within a primary school setting

A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach

Strong communication and behaviour management skills

A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

The ability to work effectively as part of a team
