SANZA Teaching Agency are recruiting an SEN teaching assistant to support primary-aged pupils with Autism and challenging behaviour. The school is located in Dagenham.

As a teaching assistant, you will provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with a diagnosis of Autism.

As a teaching assistant applying for this role, you will:

  • Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to support emotional regulation.
  • Adapt class work to suit individual needs and ability.
  • Deliver targeted interventions.
  • Assist pupils with navigating social elements of schools and promote friendships.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to implement support.

About you:

  • Must have previous experience supporting children with Autism and challenging behaviour.
  • Be confident with behaviour management strategies.
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be patient, resilient, and able to use initiative.
  • Have a genuine love for supporting the growth and development of young children with additional needs.
