The Teaching Assistant role

As a-Teaching Assistant in Bracknell, you''ll work as part of an experienced specialist classroom team, supporting pupils throughout their school day.

This isn''t simply a classroom-based role. Learning is highly personalised and could see you supporting everything from sensory activities and communication to PE, life skills and accessing the wider community.

Your day could include:

  • Supporting pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Helping pupils access sensory circuits and sensory-based learning
  • Supporting communication and interaction
  • Encouraging independence and essential life skills
  • Supporting pupils with emotional and sensory regulation
  • Helping pupils access PE and physical activities
  • Supporting personal care where required
  • Accompanying pupils on community activities, trips and off-site learning
  • Using positive behaviour approaches to support pupils when they become dysregulated
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and other specialist professionals
