Teaching Assistant
Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire (NG31)
Pay: -90 95 per day (PAYE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term-time only)
Contract: Long-term with the potential to go permanent
Start Date: September 2025
Long Term Futures is working with a specialist SEMH school in Grantham, part of a respected Multi-Academy Trust with a reputation for putting students'' needs at the heart of everything they do. The school supports children and young people aged 5-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, providing a safe, nurturing and structured environment that enables every learner to thrive.
In this role, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Assist teachers with engaging and creative lesson delivery.
- Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and positive behaviour.
- Help students develop social skills and self-confidence.
- Support behaviour management in a calm, consistent and encouraging way.
- Supervise pupils during learning activities, break times and off-site trips.
We''re looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEN needs (highly desirable)
- Has experience in a related field such as care, youth work, probation services, sports coaching or other roles involving children, young people or vulnerable individuals.
- Can build strong, trusting relationships with students.
- Remains calm, patient and positive, even in challenging situations.
- Works well as part of a collaborative, supportive team.
