The Role
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Plan, prepare and assess lessons that challenge, motivate and support students of all abilities.
- Develop students'' practical cooking skills alongside their understanding of nutrition, health and food science.
- Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback to maximise achievement.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students can thrive.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance and academic progress.
- Contribute to the continued development of the Food Technology and wider Design & Technology curriculum.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate:
- Experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for practical learning.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- The ability to engage and motivate learners across a range of abilities.
- A commitment to raising standards and helping students achieve their full potential.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and student wellbeing.
