Tax Senior - Job Description and Person SpecificationTax compliance is a critical pillar in David Allen’s management portfolio of financial risk control and compliance, whilst creating tax savings and tax investment opportunities for both corporate and personal clients. Role opportunities
Dalston office: ATT qualified candidates who can provide tax services to a range of clients, with an opportunity to specialise in corporate taxation. You will be involved in Inheritance Tax (IHT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and personal tax advice, with responsibilities across both compliance and advisory work. There is an opportunity, with full support, to develop your own portfolio of clients and management expertise. You will support the Tax Manager to develop the department and help train and develop junior staff while progressing towards your qualification and the highest technical standards.
Dumfries office: ATT qualified candidates with a focus on personal tax matters. You will predominately be responsible for running a portfolio of local clients and will also assist senior staff with their tax and client responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Provide tax services to clients, including personal tax and advisory support, with potential involvement in IHT/CGT and corporate taxation where applicable.Assist with compliance and advisory work, developing a portfolio of clients and management capabilities.Support the Tax Manager in department development and the training of junior staff.
Qualifications and requirements
ATT qualification (or equivalent).Ability to work on a portfolio of local clients (Dumfries) or a broader client base (Dalston) with potential to specialise in corporate taxation.Willingness to progress towards chartered tax status and to develop professional skills to the highest standards.
