Surface and Highways Structures Works Inspector

Our client is currently seeking a Surface and Highways Structures Works Inspector to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. In this role, you will supervise the construction of civil engineering assets and ensure that permanent works are delivered in compliance with the approved design. Your expertise will play a crucial role in independent technical assurance and inspection of works, ensuring compliance with the Inspection Test Plan (ITP). Reporting to the Senior Engineer, you will deliver daily shift reports, highlighting quality observations and non-conformances.

• Supervising the construction of civil engineering assets
• Ensuring permanent works comply with the approved design
• Conducting independent technical assurance and inspection of works
• Ensuring compliance with the approved ITP
• Delivering daily shift reports with quality observations and non-conformances
• Collaborating with the Senior Engineer and other stakeholders

Job Requirements:

Essential:

• Experience with reinforced concrete
• Accountability for independent examination of works for technical assurance
• Experience in highways works, including surfacing and waterproofing

Desirable:

• Experience with structural steelwork
• Experience acting as Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS)
• IEng level or above with the Institution of Civil Engineers

Experience delivering, or inspecting on behalf of the client, the installation of reinforced concrete elements and structural steelwork is highly desirable. Proficiency in reviewing Inspection Test Plans and independently examining the execution of works carried out by the contractor is crucial. Additionally, experience delivering highways works, including waterproofing and surfacing, is highly valued. If you have experience at a Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) level or above, it will be advantageous.
