Location: Hillingdon, UB7
Pay Rate: £17.00 - £19.00 per hour
Hours: 8am-3pm, 11am – 3pm, 3pm-9:30pm, 3pm-10pm, 4pm- 9pm, 10pm – 8am (Night)
About the Role
Nocturnal Recruitment are looking for experienced and compassionate Care Home Support Workers to support adults with learning disabilities across North and North West London.
The role involves supporting individuals in the care home and local community, promoting independence, building confidence and encouraging participation in meaningful activities.
Support Workers must have experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, sensory impairments, autism/ASD and challenging behaviour, including physical and verbal aggression. Personal care is a must as some clients are less able than others and need assistance.
Ongoing shifts are available for dedicated Support Workers who are passionate about delivering person-centred care and making a positive difference in people's lives.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to adults with Learning disabilities, mental health conditions, sensory impairments, autism/ASD and challenging behaviour, including physical and verbal aggression.
• Support individuals to access a variety of on-site and community-based activities.
• Promote independence, confidence and life skills through meaningful engagement.
• Encourage participation in arts, music, gardening, sports, sensory activities and other structured programmes.
• Support service users with community outings including swimming, museums, galleries, bowling and other leisure activities.
• Assist individuals when arriving and leaving the care home, including support with transport transfers where required.
• Provide personal care in a respectful and dignified manner where required.
• Maintain accurate daily records and report any safeguarding or welfare concerns.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a safe, positive and inclusive environment.
Essential Requirements
• Experience supporting adults with Learning disabilities, mental health conditions, sensory impairments, autism/ASD and challenging behaviour, including physical and verbal aggression.
• A good understanding of person-centred care and promoting independence.
• Willingness to provide personal care.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or a DBS issued within the last 12 months.
• A caring, reliable and proactive approach to supporting vulnerable adults.
Desirable
• A minimum of 2 years' recent UK experience supporting adults with Learning Disabilities.
• NVQ 2+ in Health and Social Care
• Experience working within a care home or community-based support service.
• Experience supporting individuals with behaviours that may challenge.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, moving and handling, and positive behaviour support.
• Up-to-date mandatory training or willingness to complete training before starting.
