Supply Chain Manager - Strategy

Our client BAE Systems is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager - Strategy to join their dynamic team in the Defence & Security sector, operating out of Barrow-in-Furness. This is a 6 month contract role, requiring 1-2 days onsite per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively managing categories, specifically electrical systems and equipment
- Interfacing with internal customers to ensure smooth operations
- Providing leadership and coaching to 1 or 2 direct reports
- Implementing change management and continuous improvement initiatives
- Influencing stakeholders through effective negotiation and communication
- Supporting multiple build lines and managing major equipment design and development
Job Requirements:
- Experience in supply chain management, particularly within electrical systems and equipment
- Understanding of the Defence, Aerospace, Construction, Major Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, or Nuclear sectors
- Proficient in managing and coaching team members
- Experience with change management and continuous improvement strategies
- Strong stakeholder negotiation and influencing skills
- CIPS or APM qualifications are desirable but not essential
