Job Title: Sub Agent - Structures (Major Project, Gloucester)
Location: Gloucester
Contract Duration: 6 months initially (potential for extension)
Rate: -480 per day (Inside IR35)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join the Structures Team on a major infrastructure project in Gloucester. The role will focus on the construction of two bridges, supporting the delivery of key structural works and ensuring compliance with programme, quality, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day site activities relating to bridge construction, reporting to the Site Agent/Project Manager.
Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
Supervise and provide technical guidance on Piling, Formwork/Reinforced Concrete (FRC), and steel beam installation.
Monitor progress, record site activities, and report on productivity and performance.
Ensure works are carried out in compliance with design drawings, specifications, and project standards.
Lead site briefings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
Maintain strong health, safety, and environmental standards across all activities.
Assist in planning, sequencing, and resourcing works in line with project milestones.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sub Agent or Section Engineer on major civil engineering projects, ideally highways/structures.
Strong knowledge and practical experience in Piling, FRC, and structural steel beams.
Demonstrable ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proactive approach.
Understanding of CDM regulations and health & safety best practice.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Civil Engineering degree or HNC/HND).
CSCS card and SMSTS/SSSTS certification (preferred).

The role is Inside IR35.
Initial contract is for 6 months, with scope for extension subject to project needs and performance.
