Student Support Officer needed in Newport Location: NewportStart date: ASAP, with September availableSalary: £93-100 per daySector: SENHours: Monday to Friday 08:30 - 15:30About the role:Teaching Personnel are proud to be recruiting a Student Support Officer for one of our partnership schools in Newport. The Student Support Officer will work within the inclusion team and work towards the school''s behaviour management strategy. The successful candidate will be required to promote positive behaviour whilst assisting the Student Support Centre with the effective support of behaviour, coordinate appropriate work and provide a calm working environment for students whose behaviour can be challenging. This educator must be confident and have strong behaviour management skills, whilst being impressionable and happy to act as a bridge between pupils and the teaching staff within the school.Qualifications and experience:Strong behaviour management and conflict de-escalation skillsUp to date working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and principlesKey responsibilities: Removing disruptive students from mainstream classes and working with them on a 1:1 basis within the Student Support CentreThe ability to exercise discretion and maintain high levels of confidentialityBeing able to demonstrate initiative and work both independently and as a member of the teamParticipate in the school''s performance management processThe ability to work flexiblyJob requirements:Enhanced Child Only DBS ..... full job details .....
