Student Support Assistant

Tradewind are currently recruiting for a dedicated Student Support Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic behaviour team in a mainstream secondary school based in the heart of Selly Oak. This is an incredibly rewarding role where you will play a key part in helping students overcome barriers to learning, manage their emotions, and build confidence and resilience. About you: Experience working in a pastoral role, ideally in a secondary or further education settingStrong interpersonal skills; able to engage with students, staff, families, and external professionalsExcellent organisational ability, able to manage data, attendance records, interventions etc.Empathy, resilience, and a commitment to supporting young people''s personal, social and emotional developmentUnderstanding of safeguarding requirements and familiarity with relevant legislationA flexible, proactive, solution-focused mindset Key Responsibilities:Work closely with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to implement support plans tailored to individual needs.Respond to behaviour incidents in a calm and restorative manner, promoting a positive and respectful school culture.Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.Support the ..... full job details .....
