Structural Engineer
An established civil and structural engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join its growing Manchester team.
This opportunity would suit an experienced engineer who has worked on residential and industrial developments and is now looking to take the next step towards managing and delivering their own projects.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
·Designing structures in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber
·Producing structural calculations, reports and technical documentation
·Working on residential and industrial projects from concept through to construction
·Coordinating with architects, contractors and other design disciplines
·Attending client meetings, design meetings and site visits
·Supporting the delivery of multiple projects to agreed timescales and budgets
·Taking increasing responsibility for running your own projects
·Supporting junior engineers and technicians where required
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
·A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
·Approximately three or more years'' UK structural design experience
·Experience working on residential and industrial schemes
·A good understanding of steel, concrete, masonry and timber design
·Knowledge of relevant British Standards and Eurocodes
·Strong technical, communication and problem-solving skills
·Experience using structural design and analysis software
·Ambition to progress towards independently managing projects
·A desire to work towards chartered status
