Do you enjoy working closely with members of the Multi-disciplinary team in order to provide effective and safe care?

It is essential that the successful candidate can be professional, diplomatic and caring as you will be challenged with the varied demands of the ward. You must have the ability to prioritise your working day under pressure, whilst ensuring the values and behaviours of the Trust are upheld. Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive assessment of patient nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate care according to changing health care needs, including providing clinical expertise, advice and guidance in a specialist area of clinical practice to improve the overall care provided by the team.

Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team/agencies to ensure that patient needs are met.

Involve patients, relatives/carers in the delivery of care, providing reassurance and support to assist their understanding and co-operation.

Prepare the clinical area for safe practice by ensuring that cleanliness is maintained, materials and equipment are ready for use, including clearing away afterwards.

Provide escort and transfer for patients as directed by the multidisciplinary team.

Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.

Collect, collate, and report information, maintaining accurate patient records/documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

Experienced health care professional competent in all aspects of care planning, who is able to carry out a wide range of clinical skills, including area(s) of specialist clinical expertise and advice within the team (e.g. infection control).

Willingness to participate in leadership, education, development and supervision of the team.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the entry point (bottom) of the pay band.

Appointments are subject to a 6-month probationary period. LED Doctors are subject to a 3-month probationary period.

You will be required to pay for your DBS disclosure (where the post requires one). This will be done via 3 monthly instalments from your pay. We encourage applicants to join and remain registered with the DBS update service.

Secondments will be considered for fixed term positions when both parties agree. Candidates should seek approval from their current line manager before application.
