We are recruiting an experienced and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time position at a welcoming school in Royston, Hertfordshire.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who already has experience supporting children or young people with SEND and wants to develop their practical skills, gain specialist training and work towards a permanent position.

The role begins on a temporary-to-permanent basis, with opportunities for further professional development once permanent.

This is a full-time vacancy only. Applicants must be available Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:40pm, and have their own transport or reliable daily commuting arrangements. The school is most accessible by car.

About the Role
You will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access education in a positive, structured and supportive environment.

You will play an important part in encouraging pupils to develop their confidence, communication, independence and engagement with learning.

The role requires someone who can remain patient and consistent, adapt to individual needs and build positive working relationships with both pupils and colleagues.

Essential Criteria
We are looking for candidates who have:

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
GCSEs, including good literacy and numeracy skills.
A genuine commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, adaptable and proactive approach.
Reliable attendance and a professional attitude.
Availability for the full working week, Monday to Friday.
Own transport or a reliable means of commuting to the school.
SEND experience is essential. Applicants who cannot commit to full-time hours will not be suitable for this vacancy.

Contract and Working Hours
Location: Royston, Hertfordshire.
Hours: 8:30am-4:40pm, Monday to Friday.
Working pattern: Full-time only.
Contract: Temporary to permanent.
Start date: ASAP or following your current notice period.
