We are seeking compassionate, motivated and reliable Teaching Assistants to support pupils at a specialist school in Stevenage.

The school supports children and young people with severe learning difficulties, autism and complex additional needs. This is an opportunity to help pupils develop their communication, confidence, independence and engagement with learning.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting pupils throughout classroom activities and learning sessions.
• Helping deliver activities suited to individual learning needs.
• Encouraging communication, social interaction and independence.
• Supporting pupils'' emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.
• Working closely with teachers and other support staff.
• Following individual support plans and school procedures.
• Providing personal care where required and in line with appropriate training and guidance.
• Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Experience in SEND, autism support, schools, childcare, care work or similar settings is beneficial but not essential. Candidates with relevant transferable skills who are keen to develop in specialist education are encouraged to apply.
