The Role

Role

Townsend Group is seeking a Senior Analyst to be based in its London office. The position will report within the Special Situations Group, where Townsend manages its discretionary non-fund, principal indirect real estate investment activity. The Special Situations London office deploys capital across Europe and the UK, investing in all property types, executing via platform investments, fund secondaries, recapitalizations, joint ventures, co-investments and debt-oriented investments. This position will be heavily reliant on a strong financial analysis background. Key elements of the role will include:

underwriting direct investment opportunities, including modeling complex cash flows and capital structures, intensive research of market fundamentals and reviewing due diligence materialscontributing to the due diligence process and underwriting of platforms and investment strategies across Europe with the associated business travelpreparing investment recommendation reports for presentation to Investment Committeeworking with transaction leads to oversee portfolio investments, ensuring that implementation of business plans is consistent with approved plansmaintaining fund models for internal management and fund LPsidentifying risks and challenges that can impact investment performance and preparing updates to internal management and clientsanalysing investment structures to ensure tax efficiencyworking with investment partners to review leasing proposals, capital projects and debt proposals, making recommendations as appropriate to transaction leadsassisting with fund administration as needed including capital calls and distributions.

Qualifications And Qualities

The Senior Analyst will be an integral member of the Special Situations investment deal team and will support asset management and acquisition activities. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

strong financial modeling skills and extensive knowledge of capital structures are absolute requirements.real estate or an applicable investment, finance or economics degree and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant real estate investment experiencedetail oriented with excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skillsteam player with a positive attitude and the ability to be resourceful, proactive and hit the ground runningself-starter with a strong work ethic capable of working autonomously in a lean group and accomplishing complicated tasks with limited supervisionoutstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent team-work and interpersonal skillsstrong track record of academic success.
