A well-established specialist school in the Crowborough area is seeking a committed and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 7-16 with a range of needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, and complex learning challenges.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who require consistency, patience, and tailored support.Key Responsibilities for Special Needs Teaching Assistant:Support pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis with both academic and emotional needsAssist teachers in implementing personalised learning strategies and behaviour support plansEncourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence in a structured and therapeutic settingBuild positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviourCollaborate with a dedicated team to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environmentThe Ideal Candidate Will:Have experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly autism, ADHD, or SEMH needsBe calm, resilient, and supportive, especially when working with challenging behaviourShow strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a teamBe proactive, adaptable, and committed to the progress and wellbeing of each pupilHold relevant training or qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, psychology degree, Team Teach) - desirable but not essential Term Time ..... full job details .....
