Join Esri''s team of passionate and technical engineers in our UK Research and Development centers, designing and building new geospatial tools as web services and APIs. Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Edinburgh area for this position.Responsibilities

Build modern APIs and web services with RustCollaborate with other engineers throughout the development processDesign, develop, and test codeCommunicate your design and implementation decisionsRequirements

2+ years of commercial/academic software development experienceFluent in and passionate about RustInterest in designing easy to use APIsProven team-based software development experienceEnthusiasm for quality software engineeringSmart, adaptable, and enthusiasticClear written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detailBachelor''s in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or related fieldExisting work authorization for United KingdomRecommended Qualifications

Familiarity in designing and developing RESTful web servicesExperience in using Git source controlKnowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform or AWS is helpful but not requiredFamiliarity with GIS applications and technologies an advantageUnderstanding of Test-Driven DevelopmentBase salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is £36,000 - £61,200About Esri
