Software Design Engineer Location: Burton-on-Trent (Office Based) Salary: 50,000 - 65,000 The Opportunity A well-established engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit an experienced Software Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the design and development of software for technically advanced electro-mechanical products. Working closely with mechanical, electrical and systems engineers, you''ll be involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing, commissioning and continuous product improvement. If you enjoy developing robust software for real-world engineering applications and want to work on technically challenging projects where you can make a genuine impact, this could be the ideal opportunity. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain embedded software for industrial control systems and machinery. Produce software architecture, specifications and technical documentation. Develop, test, debug and validate software to ensure reliability, performance and compliance. Support system integration, commissioning and product validation activities. Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical and systems engineering teams. Investigate software faults, undertake root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
