Pay: andpound;160 andndash; andpound;238 per day (depending on experience)



A Meaningful Role in a Supportive School


We are currently working with a secondary school in central Southampton to appoint a Sociology Teacherandnbsp;starting ASAP. This is a long-term position offered on either a 0.6 part-time or full-time basis, with potential for a permanent appointmentandnbsp;for the right candidate.

The role will focus on GCSE Sociology, with the opportunity to teach additional Humanities subjectsandnbsp;such as History, Geography, or PSHE depending on your background and availability.

What the Role Involves



  • Teaching GCSE Sociology to students in Key Stage 4
  • Option to teach additional Humanities subjects depending on experience
  • Creating a structured, inclusive learning environment that enables all students to progress
  • Working closely with a supportive Humanities department to plan and deliver engaging lessons
  • Taking part in department planning and student progress tracking
  • Contributing to wider school life where possible



Who Weandrsquo;re Looking For


andnbsp;


  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent)
  • A background in Sociology or a related Social Sciences/Humanities field
  • Recent experience teaching in a UK secondary school (GCSE level experience preferred)
  • A calm, reflective approach to teaching and behaviour management
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Open to ECTs as well as experienced teachers
