Social Worker – Safeguarding and Support Team | Herefordshire County Council

Position: Social Worker
Team: Safeguarding and Support
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £35,235 – £39,513 per annum + £5,000 market rate supplement + £10,000 welcome payment (subject to guidance) + full benefits package
Location: Herefordshire 
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Full-time, flexible hybrid

Herefordshire County Council are looking for experienced Social Workers to join their Safeguarding and Support Team. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake child and family assessments, identifying needs and risks in line with statutory guidance

  • Develop and implement care and support plans to ensure the best outcomes for children

  • Manage complex caseloads, including safeguarding and child protection cases

  • Prepare and present reports for court proceedings and multi-agency meetings

  • Work in partnership with families, schools, health professionals and partner agencies

  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory duties

Requirements:

  • SWE Registration

  • Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)

  • Post-qualified experience in safeguarding/child protection work

  • Strong assessment, planning and risk management skills

  • Experience of working within a multi-agency setting and attending court

  • A proactive, child-centred approach with resilience and flexibility
