About the role

Herefordshire Community Wellbeing Directorate is a welcoming and supportive place to work. We are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated, professionally confident Social Workers who enjoy fast paced work and who have experience of working with adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health needs and older adults. This role has the benefit of having a wide variety of adult social work, including Care Act Assessments and support planning, using a Strength Based approach, CHC and s117 work, Section 42 Enquiries, Mental Capacity Assessments and Community DoLS. As well as having regular supervision, you will also have opportunities for your own professional growth and development, including potential for exploring specialist practice.

Responsibilities

Undertake Care Act Assessments and support planning, using a strength-based, outcome-focused approach.Contribute to CHC and s117 work, Section 42 Enquiries, Mental Capacity Assessments and Community DoLS.Conduct safeguarding enquiries commensurate with training and post-qualifying experience.Engage in multidisciplinary and multi-agency collaboration to ensure safety and support independence.Provide regular supervision and opportunities for professional growth and development, including potential specialist practice.

About you / Qualifications

Be registered as a social worker with Social Work England.Hold a Degree, Diploma, CSS, or CQSW to be qualified in Social Work practice.Have awareness and understanding of current legislation and guidance and their impact on the adult social care profession.Knowledge of undertaking person-centred, strengths-based, outcome-focused assessment, care management and review.Ability to undertake Safeguarding Enquiries commensurate with training and post-qualifying experience.Qualification or potential to undertake courses in Practice Education, Best Interests Assessor, and/or Approved Mental Health Professional.Experience of working in partnership with other agencies to ensure safety and support independence.
