Role Overview
RG Set Square are seeking an experienced and proactive Construction Site Manager to oversee and deliver a high-quality construction project, with a strong focus on heritage and refurbishment works. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing site operations within the construction build sector and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Site Management & Delivery
- Manage all day-to-day site operations
- Ensure the project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to specification
- Coordinate trades, labour, plant, and materials efficiently
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior management
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and manage site teams to ensure productivity and high standards
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure performance meets contractual and quality expectations
- Foster a positive and safety-focused site culture
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies
- Deliver and enforce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Maintain accurate records of safety procedures and compliance
Communication & Briefings
- Carry out toolbox talks, site inductions, and ongoing safety briefings
- Act as the main point of contact on site for clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Ensure clear and effective communication across all project teams
Quality Control
- Maintain high-quality workmanship standards, particularly within sensitive heritage environments
- Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, and conservation requirements
- Identify and rectify defects promptly
Subcontractor Management
- Coordinate and manage subcontractor activities
- Ensure subcontractors adhere to programme, quality, and safety standards
- Review subcontractor RAMS and ensure compliance
Essential Requirements
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) - Valid
- CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card
- First Aid at Work Certificate
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction build sector
- Strong background in heritage and refurbishment projects
- Demonstrable leadership and team management skills
- Solid knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and site compliance
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working on listed buildings or conservation projects
- Strong understanding of traditional building methods and materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
