Site Manager - Steel Frame Construction

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in steel frame construction to join their-growing team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of construction sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable contractor delivering a range of commercial, industrial, residential, and mixed-use steel frame projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all on-site operations from mobilisation through to completion.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.
• Ensure steel frame erection works are carried out safely and in accordance with programme requirements.
• Monitor project progress and report regularly to senior management.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and site inductions.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, structural engineers, and project teams.
• Manage site logistics, materials, and plant requirements.
• Identify and resolve construction issues to minimise delays.
• Ensure all works comply with current regulations, specifications, and company procedures.

Requirements

Essential

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on steel frame construction projects.
• Strong understanding of structural steel erection and associated trades.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and site management practices.
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain programme targets.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Qualifications

• SMSTS
• CSCS Card (Black or appropriate management level)
• First Aid at Work
• Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable)
• Appointed Person or Crane/Lifting Operations experience (desirable)
