The Role & About the Client
ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Manager on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a major waste and clean water infrastructure project in Dorset. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor on a long-term scheme, with an initial 2-year contract available. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
• Managing day-to-day site activities to ensure works are delivered safely and to programme.
• Coordinating subcontractors, site operatives and suppliers throughout the project.
• Overseeing groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete structures, water tanks, pump stations and network pipe installations.
• Ensuring all works are completed in line with project specifications and quality standards.
• Monitoring progress and reporting updates to the Project Manager.
• Managing health and safety on site, ensuring compliance with company procedures and legislation.
• Organising site resources, materials and plant to maintain programme requirements.
• Conducting site inspections, toolbox talks and maintaining accurate site records.
• Resolving site issues and coordinating engineering and construction activities.
• Supporting the successful delivery of the project from start through to completion.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Previous experience working as a Site Manager on civil engineering or water infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete structures, water tanks, pump stations and network pipelines.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple site activities.
• SMSTS Certificate (essential).
• CSCS Card (Preferable).
• First Aid at Work (essential).
• Water sector experience would be highly advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
