Our client, a well-established main contractor specialising in refurbishment projects, is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a 14-week window replacement programme on an occupied student accommodation development in Preston. The project will start on the 20th July.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Site Manager with experience delivering refurbishment works in live environments, where maintaining strong communication with residents is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of the window replacement programme.
- Coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
- Liaise with residents and the accommodation management team to coordinate access for window installations and keep occupants informed of planned works.
- Ensure all health & safety procedures are adhered to and maintain a safe working environment.
- Complete site documentation, including daily diaries, RAMS, permits, and progress reports.
- Carry out quality inspections and manage snagging to ensure a high standard of finish.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering refurbishment or window replacement projects.
- Previous experience managing projects within occupied residential, student accommodation, or other live environments.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with residents and stakeholders.
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid at Work certificates.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced programme
