Site Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor on a major earthworks package. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale infrastructure scheme, delivering bulk earthworks and associated civil engineering works.

Site Engineer Roles & Responsibilities:

• Managing engineering activities across a large earthworks package
• Carrying out and overseeing all setting out duties using GPS and total station equipment
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and technical specifications
• Reviewing and managing site documentation including RAMS, ITPs, permits, and QA records
• Maintaining accurate QA/QC records and completing inspection and test plans
• Coordinating daily site operations alongside the Site Agent and Project Manager
• Monitoring quality of works and ensuring compliance with design specifications
• Supervising subcontractors and ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently
• Supporting progress reporting and maintaining detailed site records
• Assisting with planning, sequencing, and logistics of earthworks operations

Site Engineer Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on earthworks or heavy civils projects
• Strong setting out experience (GPS, total station, machine control preferred)
• Good understanding of QA/QC processes and site documentation
• Experience working with bulk earthworks, cut & fill, or ground remediation
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or similar)
• Valid CSCS card
• SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
• Strong communication and organisational skills
