Location: Southampton (On-site)Duration: Long-Term Freelance or PermanentRate/Salary: Competitive Daily Rate / SalaryWe are recruiting a Site Engineer to join a tier-two civil engineering contractor on a major water infrastructure project based near Southampton. This is a direct delivery role requiring a hands-on engineer to take full ownership of site accuracy, setting out, and engineering control for a high-profile asset upgrade.The RoleAs Site Engineer, you will be embedded in the live delivery team, providing setting-out precision and practical technical problem-solving on the ground. Your day-to-day will involve:Direct Delivery Setting Out: Executing precise dimensional and engineering control across civils, structural, and groundwork packages.Technical Interface: Reviewing drawings, updating site CAD files, and raising TQs and RFIs to resolve design queries instantly.Quality and Handover: Managing quality control on the ground through strict enforcement of ITPs, as-builts, and gathering final handover documentation.Subcontractor Coordination: Monitoring daily outputs, coordinating trades, and maintaining accurate records through site diaries and progress photos.HSEQ Compliance: Enforcing a strong safety culture, ensuring all operations strictly adhere to Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and RAMS.Essential RequirementsDirect Delivery Experience: A proven track record working in a direct site delivery capacity for a civil engineering contractor.Water Sector Background: ..... full job details .....
