SHEQ Manager
Our client, a growing specialist in transmission and renewable energy infrastructure, is seeking a SHEQ Manager to support the safe and effective delivery of grid-scale battery energy storage, solar and wind projects in Glasgow. This permanent role will focus on health and safety management, environmental compliance and quality assurance across complex construction and energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement, maintain and monitor SHEQ policies, procedures and management systems across renewable energy projects
- Conduct risk assessments, site inspections and compliance reviews in line with relevant health and safety legislation
- Provide SHEQ training, inductions and toolbox talks to employees and subcontractors
- Support accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards
- Monitor environmental and sustainability initiatives across BESS, solar and wind projects
- Prepare SHEQ reports and maintain accurate records, documentation and performance data
- Work closely with project teams to promote a strong safety culture and integrate SHEQ requirements into project planning and delivery
Job Requirements:
- Experience in a SHEQ, health and safety or quality management role within renewable energy, BESS or construction
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality regulations
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and accident investigation techniques
- Experience working with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 management systems
- Excellent communication, training and influencing skills
- Proficiency in report writing, data analysis and quality documentation
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and problem-solving abilities
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification is desirable, with NEBOSH Diploma-level knowledge advantageous
Desirable Qualifications:
- IEMA environmental qualification
- Internal or Lead Auditor certification for ISO standards
- First Aid and Fire Safety training
- Working knowledge of CDM regulations
