The Opportunity

We''re looking for an experienced Service Centre Supervisor to lead a busy operational team in Rainham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on people manager who enjoys leading teams, driving performance, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You''ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Service Centre, ensuring client commitments are met, productivity targets are achieved, and the team operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Service Centre Team Leaders, Operatives, Drivers and Machinists
• Ensure customer service agreements and turnaround times are consistently achieved
• Manage daily workloads and allocate resources effectively to maximise productivity
• Monitor team performance, attendance, holiday planning and absence management
• Drive a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement
• Investigate operational issues and implement long-term solutions through root cause analysis
• Ensure all team members are trained, compliant and working to standard operating procedures
• Support recruitment, onboarding and development of new team members
• Manage vehicle compliance and ensure a roadworthy fleet is available to support customer requirements
• Complete administrative tasks including payroll information, timesheets and employee support queries

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
• Strong people management and coaching skills
• Ability to motivate and engage teams to achieve results
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Good understanding of Health & Safety practices
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
• Problem-solving mindset with experience identifying and implementing improvements
• Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office

Desirable

• Experience within service, manufacturing, logistics, operations or production environments
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement or Lean/6S principles
• Experience with workforce planning and succession planning
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification
• ILM Level 5 or equivalent leadership qualification
