Senior/Principal Civil Infrastructure Engineer (Development)

We are seeking a Senior or Principal Engineer to support our regional Development Team in Cardiff, focusing on civil engineering for development infrastructure. You will lead and produce designs for construction projects, deliver technical reports for masterplanning and planning applications, and manage multiple projects and client accounts.Responsibilities

Day to day project management in the delivery of concept studies and strategies with hands-on design, leading to planning applications or construction drawing issueTaking financial responsibility for your projects and ensuring delivery to budget, programme and technical standardsWorking on varied multi-disciplinary projects and client accounts, liaising with clients at a local and national levelDirect line management, including mentoring and managing early career professionals ensuring technical excellence in everything we deliverAssisting in the preparation of fee proposals and involvement in business development activitiesHelping maintain the culture and positive working environment in the teamProjects

Our Team works on prestigious developments including HS2 Curzon Street Station (Birmingham), Eden Project North, Greenwich Peninsula, HS2 Old Oak Common Station (London), Aston Villa (Birmingham), Bahrain International Sports City (Bahrain).Qualifications

Preferably a Civil Engineering degree and either Chartered or approaching Chartered status with experience in highway and highway drainage designStrong postgraduate experience in a civil engineering working environmentThe ability to produce masterplans, site appraisals, write reports to support planning applications, design calculations and construction drawingsA solid engineering foundation and an understanding of highway design and highway drainage principles (layout, etc.)Experience in using Civils 3D or PDS (or similar software packages) together with experience in applying Highways England/DMRB and Local Authority design guidanceExperience in design of drainage using InfoDrainage and a background in Water Company related work inclusive of the relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, DMRB and Local Authority Design Guides, and to be well versed in the preparation of drawings for Contract Documents and requisite technical agreementsThe ability to work effectively with colleagues including more senior and junior staff in producing designs, drawings and reports is essential.What we will look for
