Senior Civil & Structural Technician

Location: Swansea | Salary: Up to -47,000 DOE

An established and growing consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Civil & Structural Technician to join its team in Swansea.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and experienced CAD technician who is confident working across both civil and structural projects, with a particular emphasis on reinforced concrete detailing and drawing production.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and developing high-quality technical drawings and models across a range of civil and structural engineering projects. You will work closely with engineers, project teams and clients to deliver accurate and practical design information.

This role requires demonstrable experience in BOTH civil and structural projects.

Essential Requirements

• 10+ years'' CAD experience within a civil and/or structural engineering environment.
• Proven experience working on both civil and structural projects.
• Strong experience in reinforced concrete (RC) detailing.
• Experience with RC reinforcement detailing and scheduling.
• Ability to produce accurate, detailed technical drawings and construction information.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, detailing standards and construction methods.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a wider project team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Desirable / Additional Skills

Experience with BIM and relevant BIM workflows would be advantageous.

The consultancy would also welcome candidates with complementary technical and site-based skills, such as:

• Land surveying
• Topographical surveys
• Site setting out
• As-built surveys
• General site measurement and data collection
• Ability to interpret and work from survey information

These additional skills are desirable rather than essential and would provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to contribute across a broader range of project activities.
