Role details:
Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Senior Supportability Engineer with expertise in obsolescence management to join their team on a contract basis. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to Bristol as required, and spans a 12-month duration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating in accordance with the ACC Project Obsolescence Management Plan
- Reviewing and updating the Obsolescence Management Plan (OMP) as needed
- Investigating change query issues directed by the Project Obsolescence Manager
- Prioritising high-priority obsolescence queries and ensuring timely submissions
- Evaluating and mitigating obsolescence risks aligned with IEC 62402:2019
- Compiling solution documents with comprehensive evidence for Support Capabilities and Consumables (SCC)
- Maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure minimal rejection of solution documents
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in obsolescence management within the defence and security sector
- Understanding of ACC Project Obsolescence Management Plans
- Proficiency in handling change query investigations and prioritising issues based on urgency
- Knowledge of relevant standards, specifically IEC 62402:2019
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate and mitigate risks
- Excellent documentation skills for creating comprehensive solution documents
